Rainbow

There was an awesome rainbow this morning. There was no rain in my area, but one of my coworkers said it was raining at her place. I rushed Sheba through our morning walk, afraid that the rainbow would disappear before I had the chance to take a picture. Luckily, it persisted.

Governor's Visit

The Governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, visited our lab last Friday. The state of Florida has given us a very generous research grant and Gov Crist wanted to get a closer look at our lab. There's a news story here. He was constantly surrounded by a large group of still and video photographers, but we've yet to see any of the shots.

I hope that everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend. After making so many weekend day trips over the summer, I decided to spend the holiday weekend staying close to home. It was enjoyable, though not very exciting. My sister and her husband (in Lexington) had their annual Labor Day cookout - it sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. My mom posted some photos here.

It's been about a year since I started this blog and I'm not sure who is in my regular audience. If you stop by here regularly, please drop me a line and let me know. I'd like to tailor my posts to best fit my audience. Any constructive feedback would also be appreciated!
